  • Shipping inside the United States may be faster than shipments originating in Europe and the United Kingdom. Please refer to product pages for shipping origination.
  • The amount of your shipped purchase will be identified on your order confirmation email.
  • Please Note: Products shipped from international artisans that are valued at $800 or more are subject to the U.S. de minimis threshold, meaning customs duties and import fees may apply. These charges are assessed by U.S. Customs and will be collected at checkout based on estimated rates. Final amounts may be adjusted after confirmation from the artisan, depending on the declared value and shipping details. Any changes will be communicated prior to shipment.

    All international artisan products valued at $800 or more are subject to this threshold and may incur applicable duties. Tuscany Leather Firenze products are subject to both the $800 threshold and U.S. customs duty.

 

🌍 Important Update for U.S. Customers

Until now, Italian bag orders shipped directly from Tuscany to the U.S. have been completely duty-free. As of August 29, 2025, however, U.S. Customs regulations have changed: Italian bag shipments may now incur duty charges when they reach the USA — even when the total is under $800. This update is mandated by U.S. law and is outside of our control, but here’s what matters most:

  • Only Italian bags are affected — no extra duty applies to any of our other collections.

  • FedEx bills you directly — U.S. law requires customers to be listed as the importer of record.

  • We cover the duty 100% — simply forward your FedEx duty invoice and we’ll reimburse you in full.

  • Affordable shipping remains — our artisan partnership with FedEx keeps rates lower than routing through a U.S. warehouse.

  • We’re not happy with this setup — billing our customers directly is not the experience we want for you. We’re actively working toward a prepaid duty solution so charges are handled upfront.

  • Our promise continues — until then, your final cost will never increase thanks to our reimbursement guarantee.

Missing or Complete Items Policy ✨

Every order at L’Atelier Global is packed by hand with great care and double-checked before shipment. We also review and record the weight of each parcel to confirm that all items are included. If you believe something is missing from your order, please notify us within 3 days of delivery. To review your claim and, if needed, file a report with the carrier, we require:
  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photos of the shipping box, including all sides, the shipping label, packaging materials, and all items received
Please note:
  • Claims submitted without packaging photos cannot be reviewed or filed with UPS or USPS.
  • Once packaging is discarded, we lose the ability to investigate the issue or submit a carrier claim.
  • Recorded shipping weight is used as part of our internal verification process.
We understand shipping issues can be frustrating, and while we do our best to resolve any concerns, we must follow verification procedures to ensure fairness and accuracy.

 

Seasonal Shipping Costs ✨

Shipping costs may change seasonally as we encounter increased carrier rates globally. We do not mark up shipping for profit or mark up retails to provide free shipping. Gift Cards ✨

Both L'Atelier Global and external gift cards can be used as payment for your order. L'Atelier Global gift cards are directly applied at checkout while external gift cards (only valid gift credit cards) must be converted to L'Atelier Global gift cards to complete your order. Please contact customer service at 1-800-215-1457 to help with this conversion. A confirmation email with your LG gift card number will be immediately sent to you after purchase.

 

USA State Sales Tax ✨

Sales tax may be applied as part of the order total for orders shipped to the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. If a sales tax is applied, you will see the charge at checkout.


Holiday Deliveries ✨

We follow USPS and UPS shipping policies for Holiday cut-off dates for our standard shipping. We are located in Virginia so please refer to carrier cut-off dates and our location for delivery estimates. Some products may already have a no guarantee policy so please refer to the product page. Our daily cut-off for processing orders during the Holiday season is 3 PM EST. Rest assured that we are tracking your order until it reaches your destination. Tuscany Leather Firenze Holiday cut-off date is always December 10th.
