Irish Color Block Handloomed Mohair Throw | Soft Mohair Wool Blend

Irish Heritage Craft. Artful Color.

Wrap yourself in the cozy elegance of this mohair throw, expertly woven in Foxford, County Mayo, Ireland—a mill with over 130 years of textile tradition. Designed in a lively yet balanced palette of vibrant and muted reds, purples, blues, yellows, and oranges, this heirloom-quality piece brings warmth, texture, and expressive color to any space.

Each throw begins in the design studio, where the warp plan is thoughtfully developed and up to 2,500 individual threads are precisely arranged on the loom. As the weft yarn is woven in, the pattern emerges—uniting vibrant tones and soft transitions in a rich visual tapestry. The result is a perfectly weighted, naturally breathable throw, elevated by fluffy mohair fibers that trap air for exceptional warmth and softness.

⚒️ The Weaving & Color Technique

Behind its painterly palette lies a remarkable level of craftsmanship. Each hue is individually dyed in small batches to preserve depth and clarity before being hand-fed into the warp plan. As the threads interlace, subtle shifts in tension and color blending create Foxford’s signature soft gradients—an effect impossible to replicate by machine alone. Once woven, the fabric is washed in the mineral-rich waters of the River Moy and gently brushed to achieve its signature cloud-like texture.

The final piece is a tactile expression of artistry and technique—balancing precision weaving with the organic beauty of color, light, and fiber.
