Custom Laser Engraving on Leather: What It Is & How It Appears on Different Colors

Thanks to the latest in laser technology, custom engraving is precise, permanent, and highly detailed. Unlike embossing, it etches directly into the surface for a subtle contrast that varies by color and finish.

• Lighter leather tones (tan, beige, natural, caramel) → high-contrast engraving, bold and visible
• Darker leather tones (brown, navy, black, deep burgundy) → subtle, tone-on-tone effect
• Matte or uncoated leathers absorb evenly, while glossy finishes may appear softer or more diffused
