• Lighter leather tones (tan, beige, natural, caramel) → high-contrast engraving, bold and visible
• Darker shades (brown, navy, black, burgundy) → subtle, tone-on-tone finish
• Matte/uncoated leathers absorb evenly; glossy finishes appear softer
